‘Japanese Culture’ – exhibition in the Botanical Garden!

The Botanical Garden in Lodz invites you all to the exhibition “Japanese Culture”, which will be open for visitors on 1-3 February 2013, 9:00 – 17:00 in the exhibition hall of the Botanical Garden (ul. Retkińskiej 39). Admission free.

• „Myths and superstitions” – Malwina Mrówka
• „Spirits and demons” – Emilia Widera
• „Traditional life of the Japanese (weddings, funerals, New Year celebarations)” – Beata Milczarek
14.00 – 17.00 – Workshops:

• Valentine’s Day origami – Masakatsu Yoshida and Sumire Abe
• Calligraphy about love – Minako Kobayashi
• Suibokuga – ink painting – Izumi i Barbara Yoshida
• Bonkei – landscape on a tray – Masakatsu Yoshida

03.02.2013 (Sunday):
11.00 – 13.30 – Lectures on Japanese culture:
• „Rice in the Japanese culture” – Zachariasz Popiołek
• „A Japanese house and garden” – Martyna Jeżewska
• „Schools in Japani” – Masakatsu Yoshida
14.00 – 17.00 – Workshops:

• Valentine’s Day origami – Masakatsu Yoshida and Sumire Abe
• Calligraphy about love – Minako Kobayashi
• Suibokuga – ink painting – Izumi i Barbara Yoshida
• Bonkei – landscape on a tray – Masakatsu Yoshida

During the exhibition you will be able to see, among others, Japanese student books, notebooks and other objects related to education and games, a Japanese miniature garden, kimonos and Japanese landscapes.
